Responsibilities:

As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the department, ensuring efficient performance and optimal patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 24-hour accountability for the department's operation, utilizing available resources effectively.
  • Managing staffing levels and skill mix to support departmental functions.
  • Handling personnel functions such as recruitment, hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Developing and managing the department's budget, monitoring expenses, and adjusting spending as needed.
  • Collaborating with other department heads to optimize resource utilization.
  • Developing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards.
  • Facilitating staff development through coaching, mentoring, and educational opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Participating in strategic planning activities for the department and institution.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution or eligibility for enrollment in an RN to MSN program.
  • Four years of professional nursing experience, including two years in a supervisory or charge nurse role.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Alabama (MSN preferred).
